Club looking at moving a few players on including Turgott, Lletget, McCallum, Whitehead and Fanimo.
Hopefully that will allow the better players to more focus and push on to the first team... Just a real shame there is no clear path of progression at the moment. I can imagine it being a frustrating club for youngsters at present.

Centre backs mature into the role proper and peak as players later than most others with the possible exception of keepers.
I would be surprised then to see Oxford as a regular centre back before he is say 20-22 years old. Maybe, like 'Arry used Rio, he will first play in one of the full back positions. There's a long way to go before any of this though.

Wonderkid? Last time I heard that analogy at WHU was Joe Cole. They keep comparing him with Rio. Let's hope he can become as good.

I'm a little disappointed that nobody has managed to spin this against the board, the manager or the captain yet.
Still, it's quite early.

Yeah, I'd imagine if Oxford is really all that, he could be in the first team within 18 months.
I'd expect he's been told that, with Reid set to leave. It would certainly make replacing Reid a bit easier. (and cheaper)
IF we can continue on our upward trend as a club, then maybe in 2-3 years there will be no reason for him to think about leaving- fingers massively crossed...

To carry on a running trend...
£75 in April followed by a further £800 in May.
Manchester United were fine with the £800 but unfortunately couldn't finance the April payment of £75. End of season bonuses don't kick in until May you see...

Re: Reece Oxford to sign

Obviously not that much, a compensation package for a 16 year old not under a professional contract would have been peanuts, particularly for a club like Manchester United.
I take your point that unsuccessful may not strictly be the correct term, but you think they'd be willing to pay a relatively small amount (couple of hundred grand tops?) For the supposed 'next Gareth Bale.'

Isn't there a standard compensation amount?

"However, the plug was pulled on a proposed deal after a compensation package with West Ham failed to be agreed,"
So they did want him, but coulnd[t agree deal
